Ian's reservations about the Blue Ribbon Campaign

I have mixed feelings about this because I have struggled to get pornography out of my own life ever since being exposed to it as a young teen.

I find that pornography causes me to entertain thoughts of women and girls as mere sex objects and not full human beings. This goes against my belief in the intrinsic value & rights of people, both male and female.

Despite this, I have found it very difficult to resist the temptations of readily available pornography on the web. [1]

Perhaps you are fortunate in that this is not a problem for you, but I certainly don't want more kids caught in this trap.

Anyway, like I said, I have mixed feelings about this protest. Note that I'm not saying you're evil, bad or wrong if you decide to protest. I'm just saying that I have reservations and cannot give my endorsement to it.

Please talk to me if you have any questions or problems with this statement. This issue can so easily mount to confrontation and I certainly don't want that. I am endeavoring not to be backed into the extreme opposite view as well.

By the way, in case you arrived here by using a websearch on the invisible words at the top of this page, yes, that is a bait.
